Cerritos College offers an associate of arts degree in Journalism and two major certificate programs:
Core Requirements for AA
JOURNALISM CERTIFICATE
The journalism certificate requires all the Associate of Arts units and the Certificate requirements and electives below. (A minimum of eight additional units total)
PUBLIC RELATIONS CERTIFICATE
The certificate helps the student focus on the study of and preparation for entry level employment in the growing field of photojournalism. The certificate should be particularly helpful to those looking for employment at newspapers, magazines, corporate and government public relations departments and online journalism ventures.
The public relations certificate requires all the Associate of Arts units and the Certificate requirements and electives below. (A minimum of nine additional units total)

17-UNIT CERTIFICATE IN BROADCAST JOURNALISM
The certificate helps the student focus on the study of and preparation for entry level employment in the growing field of online broadcast news at radio stations and television stations, and in online journalism ventures.

17-UNIT CERTIFICATE IN ONLINE JOURNALISM
The certificate helps the student focus on the study of and preparation for entry level employment in the growing field of online journalism. The certificate should be particularly helpful to those who will be helping small publications start online news ventures.

The certificate helps the student focus on the study of and preparation for entry level employment in the growing field of photojournalism. The certificate should be particularly helpful to those looking for employment at newspapers, magazines, corporate and government public relations departments and online journalism ventures.
